BEHAVIORAL HEALTH
The overall goal of the Behavioral Health Program is to empower and encourage women and men to become pro-active and independent.
Behavioral Health Services: closely collaborates with Case Management, Nutrition, Prevention, WSS and Scatter Site to be available for assessment, evaluation and appropriate referrals as well short-term psychotherapy, crisis intervention and family counseling as deemed necessary. In addition, there are three intensive psychotherapy groups-a women’s empowerment group, two men’s psychotherapy group one of conducted in Spanish. as well as facilitating the DIVAS over 50 and Spanish Speaking Latino Mix group. .
Psychotherapy Groups
These groups are designed to support women and their families in dealing with HIV/AIDS and the issues that arise throughout life with the disease. The goal is to improve internal familial relationships through discussion topics including but not limited to: economic issues, education, disclosure, parenting, treatment and support. All groups meet once a week for 60 minutes-groups will go over as needed (i.e. crisis). Any topic that is paramount to the client is presented for discussion in a safe supportive non-judgmental environment
