Did you know that last year we served 793 individuals with HIV/AIDS of which 440 were women, 133 were children and 220 were significant others and family members?  Of the many we serve, most are from the East Harlem and Central Harlem area of New York City, designated as one of the areas of the city with the highest number of HIV/AIDS infected persons.  Our clients come from many backgrounds with 51% identifying as African-American and 48% identifying as Latina/Latino.

Your financial support is needed more than ever to help grow our many programs and sustain our general operating expenses.  We have to keep the lights on, a roof over our head, prepare payroll for more than 54 staff, carry insurance, and support the essential services that let us open the doors every day. General operating expenses are rarely supported by grant funds.  We depend on the generosity of people like you to support our house, Iris House.

Iris De La Cruz was an advocate who raised her voice to challenge the community to look at women and AIDS with compassion and care.   Naming our organization Iris House honored Iris' life work and dedication. You are offered many varieties of Irises to keep Iris House in bloom.  A generous gift will be most appreciated.

We are deeply grateful for your interest and can provide additional information about ways to give.  You may contact the Director of Development, at 646-548-0100 for additional information about ways of giving.
