Naima Walker Fierce, J.D.
Naima Walker-Fierce is Senior Director, Legal Recruiting at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP where she oversees legal recruiting and sits on the firm’s Executive Director Group. Prior to joining Weil Gotshal, Naima was a corporate attorney at the New York office of Winston & Strawn, LLP. Naima obtained her BS from Northwestern University in 1992 and her JD from Northwestern University School of Law in 1996. Naima has been on the Iris House Board since 2009, and chair since July of 2012.
Camille Sealy, M.Ed, MPH
Camille Sealy joined Iris House in the winter of 2013. She currently serves as the Acting Deputy Director of the Office of Legislation at the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), which is an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In her role as Acting Deputy Director, Camille provides strategic direction and leads legislative efforts for the agency around various issues including HIV/AIDS, health workforce, maternal and child health, and primary care. She previously served as a health Legislative Aide to congressional members in both chambers. During her time on Capitol Hill, Camille co-drafted the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Extension Act of 2009 and also drafted provisions within the health reform law pertaining to maternal and child health, prevention and wellness and disparities. In her free time, Camille enjoys running, reading, and traveling. She also volunteers at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History & Culture.
Nick Charles
Nick Charles is a career multi-media and communications professional, editor and writer with extensive marketing, management and international experience. He has served as an executive at Kaplow Communications, Porter Novelli, Black Entertainment Television, AOL Black Voices and has designed and generated content reaching millions ofunique monthly visitors and tens of millions of page views per month. As an author and editor, his work has been read in People Magazine, the New York Daily News, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, The Village Voice, The New York Times Book Review and a dozen other high profile publications. Mr. Charles holds a BA in Journalism from NYU, an MS in International Affairs from the New School University. A native of London, England, he has lived internationally and currently resides in Suffern, NY. He has served on the Board since 2008.
Vanessa Johnson, J.D.
Vanessa Johnson is the co-owner of the Washington, DC-based Ribbon Consultant Group (Ribbon). Ribbon is a minority women owned business specializing in
organizational growth and development, health-related programming and services, and civic and community engagement. Vanessa also serves as the National
Training and Leadership Development Director for the Positive Women’s Network USA (PWN-USA).
Her career accomplishments include 34 years of creating and scaling up responsive community and public health services (i.e. HIV testing), interventions (i.e. trauma-informed and vocational development), and activities (i.e. learning institutes and trainings). In this pursuit, Vanessa dedicated 20 years to developing and providing capacity building assistance in the area of HIV with a special emphasis on women living with HIV. She is an experienced facilitator and nationally certified trainer with a focus on leadership development, community mobilization and the delivery of public health education and interventions. Vanessa is a graduate of Temple University School of Law.
Theresa Mack, M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Mack is a product of the Harlem community. She was featured by the Daily News as “Dr. Angel” in 2011. She is an advocate for the underserved, providing quality care to patients who may not have had access to medical care. Dr. Mack treats high blood pressure, diabetes, chronic kidney disease, hepatitis, and HIV/AIDS. She has worked tirelessly to ensure Harlem residents receive quality medical attention. Dr. Mack has given lectures nationally to consumer and physician audiences. When asked by one of her patients to describe her, it was said that she is sensitive, caring, well informed, and professional. She was the Associate Medical Director of the St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center for Comprehensive Care for seven years and currently is the Medical Director at Mt. Sinai’s Doctors Faculty Practice at 147th St and 8th Avenue in Harlem. Dr. Mack is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and HIV Medicine.
Cynthia Taylor
Cynthia Taylor is a woman living with HIV/AIDS since 1999, a longtime client of Iris House and a core member of our community advocacy staff. She has served as chair of our Client Advisory Board and represented Iris House at gatherings and conferences at the city, state, national and international levels, and worked as a peer navigator helping others living with HIV/AIDS. She is very active in her church community and is a loving mother and grandmother. She has served on the Board since 2009.
